What is Headendix built on, and why does it matter?
It is written in Go. The core and panel run as standalone programs directly on Linux, with no PHP, Python, Apache or Nginx on your server, so there are fewer parts to install, configure, update and patch.
Do you sell channels or content?
No. Headendix is software. You bring your own sources, and you are responsible for having the rights to stream them.
What do I need to start?
A fresh 64-bit x86 (amd64) server running Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 (20.04 and Debian 11/12 also work), with root access, ports 22, 80, 443, 25461 and 2096 open, and a domain pointing to it.
Which apps and devices work?
Apps that use the standard player API, M3U playlists, XMLTV, the MAG/Stalker portal, Enigma2 and smart TVs. Older players can get raw TS.
Is it safe to give you my root password?
It is used once, over an encrypted connection, and is never saved, logged or e-mailed. You can add your server's SSH fingerprint so it is sent only to the right server, or run the install command yourself.
How does the free trial work?
Confirm your e-mail and start it from your account: 3 days on one server, no card. One trial per customer and per server. Upgrade later without reinstalling.
How do updates reach my servers?
Each release is signed and checked by your server before it installs. Downloads resume if interrupted. Install with "Update now", or turn on night installs to have new versions install by themselves. If the Main fails its checks after an update, it rolls back by itself, and so do load balancers.
Can I move my license to another server?
Yes, once every 30 days from your account. A failed move doesn't count, and if the new server never comes up you can move straight back. For more moves, contact support.
How many servers does one license cover?
Your Main and its load balancers, on one license. If a Multi-Main PRO takes over from the Main, the license follows automatically. Need more? Talk to us.
What happens if my license expires?
You get 7 days of warnings while everything keeps working. Then the panel locks, and streaming keeps running for 3 more days so your viewers aren't cut while you renew. After that, streaming stops. Once you pay, press "Check now" on the lock screen to bring the panel back.
Does it need a constant connection to you?
No. A paid server can stay out of touch with our license server for up to 14 days before the panel locks, and streaming stops 3 days after that. Trials allow 3 days.
Do I need a GPU?
Only for GPU transcoding PRO and channels rendered on a GPU worker. Everything else runs on the CPU.
I already run another panel. Can I move?
Yes. The Move wizard brings over lines, resellers with their credit, channels, series, bouquets and expiry dates, and keeps channel IDs where they are free, so playlists keep working. Depending on your panel, a few items may not carry over, so tell support first.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Card, PayPal, crypto and bank transfer, depending on your country. Pending PayPal payments activate by themselves once they clear.
What data do you see?
Your panel, lines and viewers stay on your servers. Your servers' license check-ins send us hardware IDs (such as the motherboard and network card) and usage counts (channels, lines, viewers now). The AI support chat never sees your licenses, invoices or e-mail, and your questions to it are processed by a third-party AI provider. Details are in our privacy policy.
